In the East African culture, dance is a very important part of society. Music and dance are not to be thought away from the streets. There is often dancing and music made as entertainment, but it is also used for very different goals, such as a way to communicate, or celebrate or indicate an important event, for example a wedding, baptism, birth, harvest, etc.
Quite many of our artworks in this series are called Magoma Motomotomoto, which means Kiswahilli for eccentric dance.
